A dear friend sent us an urgent text earlier: POSE SEASON 2 JUST DROPPED TODAY!
We were gagged. Not only is this one of our favorite queer shows, but we’ve been waiting (for what seems like ages) for this beloved show to return to streaming platforms.
Yes, we know the season premiered a year ago on its home network, FX. But some of us are forced to wait until these things come to the likes of Netflix. Plus we like the chance to watch without commercial interruption. (Are you listening, network executives?)
Honestly Poodles, this couldn’t come at a better time. We are witnessing a key moment in history with the Black Lives Matter movement right now, and this show highlights how there can be no LGBTQ+ Pride without BLM. It’s an important reminder that much of our queer culture is queer black culture. And don’t forget Poodles, it was trans women of color that launched us into the Stonewall age.
If, for some reason, you’ve been living under a rock and have no clue what we’re talking about, let us spill a little tea for you.
‘Pose’ is a drama spotlighting the legends, icons and ferocious house mothers of New York’s underground ball culture, a movement that first gained notice in the 1980s.

Add to that, this is a show filled with trans characters played by trans actors, features the incomparable Billy Porter, and was co-created by Ryan Murphy. This is required queer viewing!
So, what’s you take, Poodles? Will you be watching ‘Pose’ on Netflix? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
