According to Psychology Today, a study finds that straight men who are the most homophobic are also the most aroused by gay sex. The study classified a group of men as either homophobic or not homophobic, attached a device that measures sexual arousal to their penises and asked them to watch sex videos. The article tells us the men were shown three videos: “One video depicted straight sex, one depicted lesbian sex and one depicted gay male sex.” All of the men were aroused while viewing the video of straight sex and the girl on girl video. But only the homophobic men were aroused by the video of two men getting it on.
Frankly we’re not surprised by this revelation. To quote Shakespeare (sort of) “The [gentleman] doth protest too much, methinks.” What we want to know is: which videos did they watch, and who gets to attach “the device?”
