Study says your gaydar may be better than you think.
We stumbled across this 2009 article in Scientific American claiming that it is possible to tell a man’s sexuality simply by looking at his face.
While they can’t tell us exactly what features set a gay face apart from a straight face, the study claims that “all participants (both men and women) scored above chance” when sorting out the homos from the heteros.
What does “above chance” mean? Slightly better than a coin toss, as far as we can tell.
Personally, we don’t put much faith in this study. After all, if it were that easy for gay men to find each other we’d have no need for Grindr or Manhunt.net.
